This slideshow continues from Dubrovnik-1. Time for lunch. I picked this restaurant as I liked the music they were playing: rockabilly. My waiter was thrilled that I knew what type of music it was and also that I have a nephew who has a rockabilly band. Instant friendship.

But this is a jazz place and the jazz band started playing. See the Days 5-6 Balkans album for a movie.

This was really a drinks place with just a small food menu but it did have hamburgers. I did not expect to be served two of them.

I walked through this alleyway to get to Placa Street.

The steep stairway up to the City Walls--70 steps. I counted them. There are three entrances up to the walls and the fee to go up to them is 150 Croatian kuna, about $23U.S.

Walking farther on.

I saw the staircase on the right and started feeling that maybe 70 steps up and then 70 steps down was enough for me. The total number of steps on the City Wall is 1,080. Of course, they are probably divided evenly between up and down steps.

We walked up a number of steps to get to the cable car entrance to go to the top of Mt. Srd above the Old Town. The communists built a cable car to the top in 1969. It was destroyed in 1991 by Serbian artillery attacks. A new cable car was built in 2010.
