The Wedding Kiss

The wedding kiss after the marriage of my son Keith and his beautiful fiancee Brittany at the L’Auberge, Del Mar, California, on Sunday, September 6, 2009. (Del Mar is just north of San Diego.)

Sense of Humor

Bathroom signs at the Pamplemousse Grille. This upscale restaurant definitely has a sense of humor. Voted (by me) Best Bathroom Signs Ever.

The Wedding

The Sunday afternoon wedding ceremony of Keith and Brittany at L’Auberge has begun. The flower girl. Brittany’s mother (in the dark plum dress), grandmother (sitting next to Brittany’s mother), and I have already sat down. Brittany’s father very sadly passed away this last June. He had so looked forward to seeing Brittany married. The empty seat next to Brittany’s mother and the flowers on it are for Brittany’s father. I was sitting on the other side of the aisle, also with an empty seat with flowers next to me for Keith’s father and my husband who passed away over five years ago. This tribute to Keith and Brittany’s fathers was very special and brought tears to my eyes.

The Best Man and Ushers. The two handsome guys on the right both belong to me. The sun sets in the west and my camera was facing into the sun, so not a great photo.

After the wedding: walking as husband and wife. My family was very happy to welcome Brittany “officially” into our family, though she has been a wonderful “unofficial” member of it for the last 11 years.

Remember Brandi and Kris. Their two weddings this year are both on this website: Go to Albums, Mexico, The Yucatan, May 13–15, 2009, “Day 3(con’t), Kris and Brandi’s Cenote Wedding” and Albums, United States, “Las Vegas, June 13, ’09, Kris and Brandi’s Elvis Wedding.” Three family weddings this year, with all three very different from the others. What a great year for my family and me.

Keith dancing with his mother––me. I am wearing my mother of the groom dress.

Keith dancing with his new mother–in–law. Keith entertained his guests with some really good break dancing. The last time I saw him do this type of dancing was about 20 years ago. I was surprised he could still do it and then get up and walk around. Some people never get old!

More dancing: Keith’s brothers Kris (he also can do some wild dancing) and Brett and cousin Joni on the left.

We were treated to some great old time rock ‘n roll dancing by cousin Buddy and his beautiful wife Suzy. They both perform in their very popular rock–a–billy band: Suzy on the base and Buddy on the guitar. All–in–all, a very beautiful and enjoyable wedding.
