Botswana

This was the last day of our tour for about half of our remaining group. They would be flying to Johannesburg to fly home. My half would travel by bus to Botswana and stay there two nights before going home. Crossing the border from Zimbabwe into Botswana didn’t take much time. We also didn’t have to pay Botswana’s $30 U.S. entry fee as their system to collect it was not up yet.

Chobe Marina Lodge

We arrived at the Chobe Marina Lodge where we would spend two nights. This was my bedroom with another mosquito net. Someone comes into the room early evening to arrange the net over the bed. Not good to leave anything on the bed as it is hard to retrieve it after the net is down.

Not only did we have nice bedrooms, we also had our own living rooms attached.

Quesadillas. All very good. Since we had breakfast, lunch, and dinner covered on the tour, we ate very well. One night there was a barbecue where you could try wild game unless you didn’t want to eat animals that you were so enjoying taking photos of.

Chobe River

After lunch, we took a boat cruise on the Chobe River which borders on the Chobe National Park. There were quite a number of shore birds on the river such as this heron on wood jutting out from the river.

Crocodiles were on an island in the river and also on shore.
